How to get a prescription

If you think you may need a prescription medicine, please make an appointment with the doctor. Your local pharmacist should be able to give you advice for non-prescription medication.


How to get a repeat prescription

Repeat prescriptions are normally for patients with long-term conditions who receive regular treatment. Your doctor will decide who can have a repeat prescription. From time to time we will ask you to see your doctor to review your medication. We do this to monitor your illness and medication.

You can request a non-urgent repeat script by using your ManageMyHealth(MMH), phoning the practice on 04-8018935, leaving the relevant details on our script line or emailing prescriptions@capitalcare.org.nz.

Faxing prescriptions to your pharmacy

We can fax your script to the pharmacy of your choice. Please ensure you let us know which pharmacy. Please note that most pharmacies will charge you to receive your script this way.

To order a prescription

You can either phone or email your request to prescriptions@capitalcare.org.nz Please ensure you have at least 2 week’s supply of your regular medications in-case of emergency.

For regular medication repeats please ensure your request is in by 12pm. It will be ready after 4pm the following working day. If you require an urgent/same day prescription, please phone reception with your request by 12pm and it will be ready for collection after 3pm that same day. Please ensure you state it is an urgent request. There is also an additional fee for same day/urgent requests.
